Symptoms of Jinn Possession:
Strong reaction during the Ruqyah session upon hearing the Quran or Azaan.
Disliking to hearing the Quran, avoiding it or trying to stop it by all means.
Episodes of losing consciousness and/or epileptic attacks, especially when Quran is recited.
Frequent nightmares during sleep.
Tendency to avoid people accompanied by out-of-the-norm behaviour.
The jinni who possess him might speak when the Quran is recited.
Madness.
Symptoms and effects of Black Magic:
Dislike one’s spouse or Suppression of desire for spouse. Doing things which break up families, especially husband and wife.
Unexplainable illnesses. Sickness which have no cause what so ever.
Different attitude in the house from that which is outside the house. For example, a person will feel that he is missing his family when is outside the house but when he goes home, love changes quickly to extreme hatred.
Inability to have sexual intercourse with ones spouse.
Frequent miscarriage for pregnant women and infertility issues.
Constant bleeding for a woman OR No menstrual cycle takes place.
Sudden change in behavior without obvious reason.
Loss of appetite for food.
Insomnia.
Tightness in the chest.
Sadness.
Depression.
Loss in business.
A feeling of pain, specially moving pain from one place to another which has no explanation.
Thinking or imagining one has done something when in reality one has not.
Sudden obedience and/or love for a particular person.
Massive changes in personality which cause harm to the person and those around them.
Strange behaviour, such as refusing to do certain things, like refusing to leave the house at certain times.
The Difference Between Magic & Jinn Possession
Both involve the jinn. However, possession is the act of one or more jinn, acting on their own accord. Magic on the other hand is a contract between the jinn and the magician. The contract is usually written down and destroying this contract is the easiest way to destroy the magic. The contract often uses symbols, charts, and tables containing numbers and letters. It may be in the form of passages of the Quran, written in filthy substances or with the names of the devils written in between it, often in code.
The contract is often protected inside of other things. It may be sewn into clothing, tied around the neck or left in the house, buried, placed inside of household objects, etc. It is often associated with knots, as Allah said, “and from the evil of the women who blown on knots” [al-Falaq 113:4 ].
Magic is stronger and more difficult to remove, because the jinn are ‘forced’ to remain within the person and are ‘tied’ to the person through the magic. There is some empirical evidence that enforcers are sent among the jinn to scare and intimidate them into remaining inside of the person.
However, none of the plots of the shaytaan are strong: “Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah , and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.” [an-Nisa’ 4:76 ]
